Super 8 Videos by Ella Mae
As an independent artist, I’m always finding thrifty ways to bring my artistic ideas to fruition. Super 8 videos are a fantastic and relatively affordable option (compared to modern video-making) for artists who want to go the extra mile with their creative projects but find large scale, large crew productions cost-prohibitive.
If you, like me, enjoy doing things the old fashioned way, the crackly analog charm of a Super 8 video may be the cherry on top of your latest project.
All of my Super 8 projects are made with vintage equipment and are shot on film. With the exception of digitizing to edit, this is an entirely analog art form! I’m not trying to replicate the “look” or “feel” of old films with modern tools, I’m actually using the same equipment and process as they did 60 years ago.
